Community Weight Loss Challenge

Begins October 10th - December 6th

This is an 8-week weight loss challenge for all ages & fitness levels.

Cost: $25/member or non-member

A non-member option includes entry fee and an 8-week JCH Wellness Center membership $109

  • Stop by the  front desk of the JCH Wellness Center to sign up & pay.
  • Payment due at time of registration. CASH & CHECKS ONLY!
  • Cost: $25/person *$5 of each entry fee will go to the Wellness Center for implementation of the program.
  • Non-Members can also purchase an 8-week Wellness Center membership for $109 (this fee includes entry fee to the weight loss challenge).
  • Program will include body weight and circumference measurements (waist, hips & thigh). It is best to wear the same clothes pre & post for accurate measurements.
  • First weigh in/measurements: Thurs. Oct. 10th (5am-10pm) or Fri. Oct. 11th (5am-8pm)
  • Final weigh in/measurements: Thurs. Dec. 5th (5am-10pm) or Fri. Dec. 6th (5am-8pm)
  • You MUST weigh/measure both pre & post to qualify for the final prize.
  • You can weigh in on the Wellness Center scale anytime during the program to check your progress. “Test” weigh in’s will not be allowed after Dec. 1st. If you weigh on Dec. 5th or 6th, that is your final weight, no do-overs.
  • Weight loss will be based on percentage of weight lost, not pounds so that everyone can compete fairly.
  • Prize money will depend on how many enter the program. The total money will be split 3 ways.
  • We will award the male and female with the highest percentage of weight loss and the person who loses the most inches will also be awarded. One person can win both categories.
  • Follow the nutrition & exercise program of your choice.
  • We encourage you to make small changes for long lasting results. We discourage the use of fad diets,  excessive exercise or use of the sauna. Remember, the faster you lose it, the faster you find it!
  • Facebook & weekly email updates will be available to keep you motivated.
  • The bulletin board on the fitness floor of the Wellness Center will display the names of all participants, but your weight/measurements will not be posted. Final percentages lost and total inches will be displayed at the end of the program.


Outdoor group exercise class every Wednesday 5:45-6:30pm for weight loss challenge participants!

Non-members participating in the challenge can take this class for FREE! The class will meet at the JCH Wellness Center.

  • All fitness levels will be accommodated, so give it a try!
  • Instructors: Jen Lyles & Kellee Eilerman
  • Bring water and a mat or large towel.
  • Dress accordingly as we move into the colder months.
  • Class will not be cancelled due to temperature, but may cancel due to inclement weather.
  • The decision to cancel class will be made by 4pm, call 618-498-3500.
