About Us About Us
Listening, responding and evolving to become your healthcare provider of choice. Jersey Community Hospital (JCH) has been serving this community since 1954. Although many things have changed in healthcare over the years, our primary focus is YOU.
As an independent facility, owned by the people of Jersey County, we are dedicated to becoming your primary healthcare resource. That's why your recent feedback to our survey was so invaluable. We are passionate about serving you and improving our organization from the inside out. Our efforts to provide you with a more holistic approach to healthcare will focus on five key areas of improvement: People, Technology, Service, Communication and the Future.
Whether it's a volunteer who greets you at the door, the physician who provides a healing solution or the therapist who helps you get back on your feet, our team is committed to providing friendly, compassionate care. We will recruit only the best physicians, nurses, technicians, therapists, leadership and support staff, ensuring you receive quality healthcare, minutes from home.
We are dedicated to improving our lifesaving technology in a financially responsible manner. As technology advances and healthcare transforms, we will acquire state-of-the-art equipment to meet the challenge. We've already begun by adding a dedicated on-site MRI and multi-slice CT scanner. Our MRI is also equipped with a breast imaging coil that allows radiologists to pinpoint small lesions that are invisible to traditional imaging. We are able to use our picture archiving and communication system (PACS) for digital filing, as well as updated colonoscopy equipment.
We are determined to provide the services and the quality you deserve. Starting with a clean, friendly hospital that promotes healing, we are committed to finding ways to serve you better. We are putting new measures in place to improve patient satisfaction in our emergency room, as well as other services we provide. In the past few years, we have built a Dialysis Center and Sleep Disorder Center, and have renovated our obstetrics department at the Women's Center. In addition, our contemporary Wellness Center will be celebrating 10 years of meeting our community's fitness needs. Our diabetes department is one of the strongest in the area. Our radiology services and community programs continue to grow. We have also added a new pulmonologist to our staff.
Educating our community on ways to improve and maintain health is also an important objective of JCH. We will build awareness of the programs and services we offer through a variety of avenues, including our website, newsletter and advertising. We will also obtain additional feedback from you through our partnership with Press Ganey, an industry leader in the measurement of patient satisfaction. Your continued survey responses will allow us to listen to your needs and concerns... and take action.
With the help of our Foundation and the Auxiliary, we will continue our fundraising efforts to raise the necessary finances to add new equipment, maintain our facility and attract quality employees. This ensures JCH will remain your best choice for quality healthcare, minutes from home. It will also help us sustain our employment levels (over 300 strong) which are vital to the area. We look forward to implementing these initiatives - and more - as a result of your feedback. We are your community hospital and appreciate the continued support!
On behalf of the entire team at Jersey Community Hospital,
